My Students

My students are scholars who love learning. Most of my students come from very marginalized circumstances and need so much more than an academic education. We work together to grow, build relationships, and nurture each other to be the best we can be every day!

The Hughes' Super Crew is a dynamic group of people who are training to be life long learners.

The majority of the students here are Title I, which means most have free lunch. Many of my children come to school hungry and with clothes that do not fit properly.

My Project

Our children will be able to learn firsthand about our galaxy by watching a simulation of the changing nighttime sky over the course of an entire school year~ all during the day light hours! With this constellation simulator, we will be able to see how Earth is in rotation and revolution. We will be able to see how our seasons change right along with the placement of the constellations within our galaxy. Also, with the shades for fluorescent lighting, we will be able to minimize glare and create more focus for students with light sensitivity. Your help with this will greatly impact our classroom.
