Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a diverse area, and my hardworking students come to school every day ready to learn. I love my students! They are hardworking, eager learners. They come from diverse backgrounds including various ethnicities and diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. I use Whole Brain Teaching strategies in my classroom, so my students are constantly engaged in learning and sharing ideas with each other. I want my students to have all of the essentials they need to be able to love life every day.
My Project
My classroom is equipped with beautiful windows, and my students are lucky to be in a big, bright classroom. This is wonderful during the morning time where we can use natural light in our room. However, during the fall and spring, there is a lot of heat that comes into our room. Sometimes my classroom often reaches temperatures above 85 degrees fahrenheit. In such temperatures, my students have a difficult time remaining focused. Blackout shades for the windows will help my students stay cool and focused during work times. In addition to helping block out the heat, window blinds would be wonderful to utilize throughout the day to make our classroom darker so my students can see the what I have projected on the screen.
