Help me give our students the tools that are required to be creative and successful! Our class is asking for a HP printer, markers and paper in order to bring color to their projects, classwork, and classroom!
Our students learn in a New York City pre-kindergarten through 8th-grade school. They come from very diverse backgrounds. Over a third of them come from low-income households, and some of them are a part of military families. A significant part of our student body is English Language Learners (ELLs); that is, they are new Americans. The students I teach all have disabilities, as they are a part of a special education program.
The goal of our classroom is to build student confidence and independence as they grow and become lifelong learners.
I believe that student achievement occurs once students change their mindset from the dreaded "I can't do this" to, our favorite class statement, "I Got This!". With a positive mindset and the proper tools, every student can grow and be successful!
My Project
Our students are in need of some motivation. We have found that our students learn best and are most engaged when information is presented to them using bright and bold colors. Our students with special needs benefit from mini anchor charts to refer to when working independently. We will use the bright paper to copy individual anchor charts for our students. All of these anchor charts will be laminated and reused throughout the school year.
We will also be using our HP printer and instant ink package to allow students to print out and create their own projects.
Many of our students do not have access to printing their assignments at home. This printer will allow our students to print as many pages as they need in school! We would love to open their eyes and help students find their creativity! Students will learn how to create their own posters, brochures and menus that will highlight our curriculum. We can not wait to see where their creativity takes them!
