Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our School is in a low-income/high poverty school district, our students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I want our students to have the opportunity to have the best experiences while at our school.
We are asking for microphones and a mixing board to help us with our new theater program.
With these materials we will be able to hold weekly practices and put on performances for our school and families. We chose Overhead microphones by Shure because they are used in a choir setting as well as for theater. The Mackie Mixing board will help us when playing our music and to be able to mix the vocals live. This will be a great opportunity for our students to do something they have never done before.
Our students are one of a kind.
Many of our students are being raised in single parent households. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical". I want to give these students memorable experiences and get them excited about the Performing Arts!
My Project
My students need a good PA system with mics, monitors, and soundboard in order to rehearse for our new theater program. Currently, we have a few mics but nothing that can project the voices on stage.
I would like to have one good system for our students to learn how to use for rehearsals, as well for the big day they perform Aladdin.
With these materials we will be able to move forward in to making Theater happen on a regular basis at our school. This is the first time any of our students have been involved in putting together a full theater performance and they are so excited to show everyone what they can do.
