Our Fight Against COVID in Our Classroom

Help me give my students a clean and safe environment in our classroom. The masks will be used by the students who come daily without one. The hand sanitizer will allow the students to clean their hands.

My Students

I work at a newly developed school where we help every child develop his or her fullest intellectual, moral, emotional, physical, and social potential in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where everyone is treated with respect. The LUES is grades 4th and 5th only.

Students, teachers, families, and the community work collaboratively to develop the skills and qualities that will produce life long learners who function as productive citizens.

Our school is a Title One school where 100% of our students are on free lunch. Our population has changed over the years to include more Non-English speaking students. We have more students who are in our ELL program and remedial classes. My classes include an Overage group of students. These students are two or more grade levels behind. This year I have 43% one grade level below and 44% two or more grade levels below.

My Project

I recently returned to my classroom after having COVID. A great deal of my students have been out due to this pandemic. I purchased items out of my pocket to keep the kids safe. The school cleans the room daily but I have four different math classes. I try to spray and sanitize the room between each class but I am constantly running out of Lysol and wipes. Since we are in the midst of the Flu season I can't keep enough Kleenex for the students and myself. The school provides small boxes of tissue but it is rough on our noses (not the good kind). The students often come without a mask and the office ran out of disposable masks. The students need a better mask since we have many out with COVID. Please help me to have a clean and safe classroom for my 106 students.
