Our Ears are Eager for Better Headphones

My students need 20 pairs of headphones with mircophones for the computer programs we use to improve literacy.

My Students

My special needs students are so eager to learn, but headphones with microphones break easily and are in need of replacement. My kids are wearing broken headphones that hang off of one ear. They are already 2-3 grade levels below their typical peers, wouldn't it be wonderful if they had working technology?

My students are mostly ELL.

They are young, eager and ready to learn. They are excited when they can read on their own. They love picking up new books and listening to the computer help them read. When we look at their progress through data and testing, the students are proud of their accomplishments and so am I. I only want them to have the best, so why not start with working headphones.

My Project

The headphones with microphones I am requesting must be used with the reading intervention we use at my school. We use the Scholastic Program System 44. It requires headphones for listening and a microphone for responding to the computer. This computer program helps our students to improve their reading skills.

I only want the best for my students.

They need working, not broken with the ear piece hanging off, headphones. They will be able to wear comfortable headphones that work properly. This would greatly improve my classroom because often our budget is small and this would help make up the difference in budgeting.
