Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a Title I school where all students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many students and their families have struggled during the pandemic, but yet student attendance is at 90%. How incredible is that! I work as the gifted teacher of many sweet and inquisitive students. They have a high potential for learning despite their economic disadvantages. They are quite resilient. Many students tell me they want to become engineers and surgeons. Each day, I am fortunate to guide them in that direction!
My Project
My school is in need of quality, hands-on materials for stations in our STEAM room. We are starting this classroom with very few materials, so donations would be a nice boost! Materials donated would be used in stations that would rotate monthly for our entire school, Pre-K through Grade 5.
Our DREAM at our school is to have a room filled with hands-on, quality materials for students to explore STEAM.
Students will have building challenges using a variety of materials. Students will be on their Chromebooks coding and programming. Students will play strategic games. Students will use their imagination and grow their creativity in this classroom!
