Our classroom is designed to support students not only academically but also socially and emotionally. It is a safe inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and listened to.
My students are a combination of General Education students and Special Education students.
We are an inclusive environment that focuses not only on academics but also on creating a safe, warm, loving classroom where every student feels capable and willing to take risks. Each student is given the opportunity to complete their work where they feel they can do their best.
A big part of our curriculum is having the students work in cooperative groups. They are free to use any and all materials in our room to assist themselves and their groups when they are completing a project.
Our cupboards are now running very low on basic supplies, such as pencils, markers, erasers, and chart paper.
By participating in group projects each and every student gets to use their talents to take an active roll in their learning. Our cooperative groups allow even our most resistant learner the opportunity to participate without feeling like they have to carry all the academic pressure themselves.
