This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a group of 3-5 year olds with special needs. They are Pre-K age, but working on skills below that of their same-aged peers. Some of the children are non-verbal and all have communication needs.
My students have varying needs and benefit greatly from early intervention and experiences with a wide variety of materials to support them as they begin their journey into learning.
They are inquisitive and enthusiastic about learning, despite the challenges they may face. It is such a wonderful feeling to witness the excitement on the faces of these young learners as they take pride in their accomplishments!
My Project
I’m asking for a variety of new play food for my Special Needs Preschool Housekeeping Kitchen.
By providing my students with the Learning Resources New Sprouts food sets that I’ve selected you will be encouraging language development and social skills through play!
My students love “grocery shopping”, “cooking” and “dining” with their friends! Our current food supply is pretty old and getting kind of yucky. I’d love for them to have a newer, larger selection of food to prepare and share.
It would be great to see my students enjoying themselves in housekeeping with a pantry filled with fresh, fun foods!
