My first grade ICT classroom is made up of students of various backgrounds and specific needs. All of my students learn in various ways and it is evident that all of my students benefit from multi-sensory and visual learning. Being considered a low-income school, our school cannot provide colored printers which could support visual and multi-sensory learning in our classroom. A colored printer would enhance learning in our first grade classroom as it would address the learning preferences of many of our students.
Providing students an opportunity to see their work come to life by using colorful images and text across each content area would be beneficial to student learning as it would help them engage in learning and enhance the creativity they put into their projects.
Our school funding is limited, and we appreciate all the support we can get!
My Project
Our students use crayons and markers to bring their illustrations and projects to life. My first graders enjoy seeing their illustrated writing pieces on the bulletin board every month. During instruction, images on the smart board are used to help visual learners in the classroom. Our students would benefit from accessing images and pictures beyond a digital screen.
My students benefit from visual games.
A colored printer would enable me to print phonics and math games that would provide support for students who need the extra support. They would also feel proud of seeing pictures of them at work on the bulletin boards!
