My Students

There are so many things that I love about my students. My students are special because they are individuals with different personalities and needs. Our school motto is to "Do your best" and "Be kind". I try to remind my students about this each day and if I forget, I know that at least one of my students will be sure to remind the whole class. This keeps my students focused and the expectations high.

One of the many reasons why I love to teach is to watch the students' faces light up when they learn something new.

I teach Kindergarten and I love this age group because of their excitement and desire to learn. They are so sweet and innocent. I have so many students with amazing positive attitudes, despite the crazy times in which we live. I cherish all my students and they truly "light up my life".

My Project

I teach at a Title One school which is has a large population of English learning, special education, and struggling students. My students are "my kids"; I yearn for them to be successful in their academic ventures. We gather often on the carpet for read alouds and discussions; currently I have two smaller rugs pieced together with tape as our gathering place. Having a larger rug would allow my kids to feel part of the community and connect. Also, I would like to purchase a kid friendly size table to work in small groups. Again, connecting with other students and providing support in our classroom community.
