It's amazing to view the day through the eyes of a kindergartener. I have 23 students who come in so excited to learn and are eager to take on the new adventures of each day. We are National Blue Ribbon School as well as a two-time National School of Character located outside of St. Louis.
I teach my students that it is okay to make mistakes.
It is through the risks they take and powering through these challenging tasks, where they learn to navigate without giving up which develops resilience and determination. I continue to build upon their academic foundation through both large group and small group instruction. I make sure there is time for collaboration as well as time for independent work. I keep a welcoming yet engaging classroom atmosphere.
