My school serves an urban area full of culture and expansion. We pride ourselves on our standard based learning and "Everyone love "everyone culture. While we are blessed to have up to date technology, our school lacks a library and many other essential resources. Imagine being a student who loves reading but has little access to a plethora of books and other resources. Welcome to my classroom!
My students are HUNGRY for literature!
Everyday they scour my bookshelves for something to read when they're finished with their classwork. They are motivated readers and independent learners. We encourage them to read at least 30 minutes a day and provide them with opportunities of set aside time to do so. You can imagine how many books they burn through! Through individual and group work time, my students are always analyzing literature.
Our school does not have a library, and my students are motivated readers. They need as many books as we can get to explore the world around them. Through this selection of mirrors and windows, they will expand their vocabulary as well as their background knowledge of the world.
My students are hungry for new literature!
Several of them have already read most, if not all, of the books from the previous haul of age appropriate literature. They need current and quality books to continue expanding their love for reading. These books were hand selected by our classes and range in difficulty to ensure the best reading experience.
