Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing kids with a bright future ahead of them. I believe in them and know they will go very far. I want to make their educational experience a great one, that they will always remember.
I want to create a learning environment for them that will encourage the love of learning.
Whether in first grade or tenth grade, or even college, I want them to know that they are capable of whatever they want if they apply themselves.
Nearly all of my students come from low-income households and have limited access to literacy materials. I want to provide them with everything they need to become successful readers and to help create a love of literacy.
My Project
My students are curious and eager to learn. They love to work together and learn from each other. Literacy centers promote student collaboration, facilitate student motivation and creativity, and provide targeted, and research-based instruction.
Literacy centers encourage student collaboration and a sense of community.
Students are encouraged to have control over their educational experiences and participating in various centers helps them do this.
The literacy centers management chart will keep students on task and gives them a sense of direction, helping them travel from one center to another. Students will be able to see where their group will be moving during each center rotation. The CD and cassette player with Bluetooth will be used at the listening center. Listening centers are beneficial in the classroom because they model fluent reading, help students decode unfamiliar words, and teach critical listening skills, among other benefits.
These materials will be extremely beneficial to our classroom!
