My students have communication deficits that vary by degree of severity. These deficits include articulation, language, hearing, pragmatics and multiple disabilities. My students are part of a small rural community. The demographics at our school are quite diverse. These students are inquisitive, fun, busy kids that keep me on my toes! They love to play games and cards and they love their speech therapy time. They love to learn and share what they are learning with their peers and teachers.
My Project
Our bulletin board decorations are old and outdated. We need new bulletin board sets and borders to make our classrooms more inviting. My students use our bulletin boards as a visual representation to display their goals and progress. Students benefit from these visuals by improving understanding of where they started, where they are currently and how much farther they need to go to reach their goal. My students have selected the decor that they would like to see in our classrooms. Our classes will be able to trade decor as needed to keep our classrooms bright, inviting and up-to-date. My students love to add their own ideas and incorporate their individual talents into our decor. We are ready for a change and are looking forward to seeing new decor on our walls. Help us to obtain these new items. We all want our classrooms to be warm, inviting and fun.
