Our Brains and Bodies Need Books and Sports Balls!
My students need materials for indoor and outdoor recess time, including a basketball, soccer ball, football, kickball, sidewalk chalk, construction paper, and their favorite series of books like Michael Vey and Percy Jackson.
My school is home to just over 700 students in Draper, UT. We are a public school, so that means that teachers spend a lot of our own money on materials we need for our class. Our students are amazing, and we work hard to ensure that they are college, career, and citizenship ready once they graduate. We pride ourselves on positive interactions with students and staying on the cutting edge of new technology.
We work together as a family-type team to provide access to the most current and updated materials to all of our elementary students.
We hope that through DonorsChoose.org, we can fund some of our classroom needs to provide all students with a creative, successful learning environment!
My Project
We live in Utah, where the weather can change minute by minute! Our students have a good mix of indoor and outdoor recess time each year. My students are requesting indoor recess materials and outdoor recess materials that can be used throughout all types of weather.
We would love to have new recess balls such as a football, soccer ball, basketball, kickball with bases, as well as some new high-interest book series like Percy Jackson and Michael Vey.
With these new materials, the students will be able to get good exercise for the body while outside and good exercise for the mind while inside!
