Our Books Need a Home!
My students need book storage bins and storage boxes.
My students come from a high poverty community, where most of them qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Our school lies in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains and has mostly farmland surrounding it. They are growing and learning in the same small, tight-knit, school community that inspired me to be a teacher. They work extremely hard to excel in their school work and be leaders in the classroom. My students are special because they want to be successful in school and in life!
These storage bins and boxes will be used to house our classroom library. We are very fortunate to have many books in our library but lack the necessary storage for them.
The current baskets are broken (with sharp edges) and completely distorted by the weight of the books.
We are in desperate need of somewhere to put these books, in an organized fashion. These bins would allow my students to have an organized and leveled classroom library. Having this organization would allow my students to independently choose a book, based on their current reading level without having to dig through the broken baskets.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
