My students need materials to study the human body, like a Human Miniature Torso Model and a Human Body Systems Chart Set. We will be studying the human body and need materials that we can touch.

My Students
My classroom is a safe place for my special education students to discover and thrive! These students, cognitively disabled, love to learn, but have sometimes been left behind by their slower processing abilities and lower reading levels.
My students thrive through hands-on activities that activate their curiosity and interest.
They are excited to explore the world of science through lessons that are tailored to their ability level and that provide real-world connections. As high school students, they will soon be out in the world. They need information that will allow them as much independence as possible.
My Project
My students need hands-on materials to make sense of their own bodies and how they function. Seeing drawings and reading about our bodies works fine for the typical student, but it is hard for my students to understand in this way.
A 3D model of the human body that students can touch, take apart, and put back together will allow my students to visualize how their bodies fit together.
After graduation, these students will need this information to participate in their own health care and help them to be more independent. The information they learn will serve them throughout their adulthood.
