This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember your high school music teacher? Was music an important part of your education? Help my high school students learn to make music by providing the funds to purchase a new bass amplifier!

Our school serves a low-income population, including many homeless children, non-English speakers and children with special needs.

Our school also houses one of Brooklyn's few bilingual Yiddish programs for children with disabilities. We have strong music, art, drama and dance programs.

My Project

Teaching children to love music can have life-long effects; they will learn discipline, dexterity, higher reasoning skills, as well as provide an outlet for their creativity. Studies have also shown that arts education motivates students to perform better in their other classes, as well as raise their test scores. I am requesting funds for a new bass amplifier to use in my student's Modern Rock ensembles.

This project is important because the arts are crucial in a child's education.

This will not only help my students gain skills that will carry over into their other studies, and improve their test scores; it will also aid in giving many of them the emotional outlet they need.
