Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our community school is very diverse where many backgrounds and languages are represented. For most of our students, English is not the primary language. As a result, my students face challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they face on an everyday basis, I am always looking to provide my students with meaningful learning experiences.
My students show up to school excited and ready to learn!
It is my goal to help my students not only reach the next reading level, but to keep my students motivated to learn.
My Project
At the beginning of the year, I had bought my classroom a cordless microphone that my students enjoyed. Classroom engagement and participation instantly went up. However with the microphone, the volume was not loud enough, so our voices could not be heard. As a result, I had to return the microphone. It's time to add a reliable microphone back to our classroom. This microphone will help our classroom in so many ways.
When my students are talking, reading, sharing, and/or explaining, their voices can be heard by everyone.
In addition to the microphone, our classroom needs more whiteboard markers so our answers can be seen. Our current supply of whiteboard markers are running low, since we use our markers everyday to show our answers on our whiteboards.
Thank you for considering this project. The microphone and whiteboard markers will have a huge impact on our daily learning.
