Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a variety of diverse backgrounds. They are hardworking and I strive to make them understand what they are capable of if they try. My students come from low economic status homes and many receive free or reduced-price lunch. They love hands-on projects and interacting with their environment. They are a joy to be around and I cannot imagine me doing anything else but teaching. I truly love and care about my students. They are truly amazing.
My Project
My students are in need plastic insects, pencils, golf balls, rulers, headphones, and leaf rubbing plates in order to study and create projects about the Earth and its ecosystems! My students are learning how food webs work in a variety of ecosystems. Having animal models to use will help show predator and prey relationships. Understanding of how an ecosystem works will help my students understand the importance of Earth. Leaf plate rubbings will allow my student trace parts of leaves and research their names as well as habitats. Golf balls will help students understand the the moon phases and how it revolves around the Earth. Headphones will help my students participate in online activities and online science labs.
Once my student are able to study and view the wonders of the Earth, they can then create wonderful projects using the knowledge they have gained.
Coloring projects, posters, storybooks, cell portraits, are just a few wonderful projects that can be created. These tool will help motivate, inspire, and promote a students originality. By combining science and art a students creativity is endless.
