My Students
As the teacher of 19 fabulous first grade students, I strive to challenge my students to grow their brains and hearts. Fostering a love for reading is essential and reading "just right", high interest books is an important part of the reading adventure.
My Project
Our school has a limited selection of guided reading books that all teachers must share. With our own classroom set of guided reading materials my students will not only be able to grow their reading brains with me, utilizing exciting reading material, but will also be able to take the books home each night to read to their families.
Recognizing that parental involvement is intrinsically tied to student learning and motivation, the donations made to this project will not only promote literacy for my classroom, it will open many doors for students to have success now and in the future.
