Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Diversity in our student population is a feature that makes our school very unique, special and a great learning environment.
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds; however, 41% of students are low-income and receive free or reduced lunch.
In many cases, students' parents work long hours and have more than one job in order to provide for the basic needs of life. This leaves little time, money and effort to provide rich educational experiences outside of school.
It is my goal to provide rich educational experiences for all of my students because they all deserve to succeed!
My Project
My 4th-grade class is a flexible learning environment in need of flexible seating. The stools and floor seats I am asking for will appeal immensely to my 4th graders. Having the choice of seating will be a great motivator for my students to stay fully engaged in their learning while also building a positive classroom community.
Flexible seating will build a sense of community in my classroom, for it will encourage my students to share space, supplies, and ideas.
Flexible seating will also build a sense of excitement for learning for students will enjoy finding the perfect space and a comfortable seat of their choice in our classroom!
