Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are wonderful young people. Many of them come from single-parent families who struggle to make ends meet. This is a school with a mix of general education and special education students. It is a pre-K3 to 5th grade school.
My students and their families are amazing people.
Many of them live in public housing. Some of my students live with a family member other than their biological parents.
Most students receive free or low cost lunch.
My Project
I am trying to get various supplies to help the occupational therapist and the special education students she works with. The mechanical pencils help students learn to regulate pressure while writing. Too firm and the pencil breaks. Too light and there won't be much of a mark. Pom Poms will be used to make various crafts.
Who doesn't like stickers?
The stickers help with fine motor skills and will be used to do various activities. The mini cloths pins will also be a fun way to build fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
