My students are a dynamic mix of special needs and typical children who thrive in our child centered classroom. With varying ages of three to five, the levels and activities that we do have are greatly varied and flexible. My children come from a diverse background and the majority are from low income families who support the education of their child but don't always have great resources at home. Our school goes out of its way to provide us with everything we need to keep our programs at their best. We have quality curriculum as well as quality materials.
My Project
Many of my children have a diagnosis that makes learning extremely difficult. They struggle to engage in traditional learning... but they love the iPad. I want to make the iPad a way to reach them and get them to physically engage: to interact.
Finding a way to teach letters, numbers, and shapes to children with disabilities is difficult, and this interface will allow my children to interact with the iPad in an exciting fun way while learning.
Osmo games will allow my children to practice skills and engage with an iPad in a way that is interactive and will promote long term success.
