Help me give my students two iPad's with heavy duty cases, to use with an Osmo Genius, to incorporate STEAM into our daily activities.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students are from a large, urban community that welcomes families from all over the globe. They bring a special blend of linguistic diversity, background knowledge, prior experiences and culture to our school. We are a Title I school in a low-income community. I have thirty-four Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) students in my classroom. Free breakfast and free lunch are available to every child in our building each day.
My students are creative, clever and very enthusiastic about learning.
The majority of my students read below grade level. They would benefit from a variety of classroom resources to help increase their success in school. My students need to have technology experiences that help foster 21st century critical thinkers. I want all of my students to be able to have the use of technology in our classroom on a daily basis.
My students need two OSMO Genius' with cases, and two iPad's with heavy duty cases in our classroom to enhance their science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) skills.
With the integration of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) into our curriculum, my students will use the OSMO and iPad to practice these twenty-first century skills daily.
My students need access to an Apple iPad and an Osmo Genius to gain access to the limitless educational opportunities for growth in math, literacy, and science available through the Osmo genius hands-on learning program. Osmo devices provide meaningful, relevant, and engaging exploratory learning experiences using reality-based activities. The Osmo platform enables the students to problem solve and think critically with engaging computer software and manipulative materials. In our school, we incorporate science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics to teach children academic standards and twenty-first century life-skills. The Osmo genius device embodies all of these disciplines in a visually engaging learning tool.
A classroom full of digital technology that teaches logical skills, coding, and problem solving will only enhance my students higher order thinking. We are very motivated and eager to learn everything in this digital world. The skills that the students attain from Osmo will create life long benefits long after leaving the classroom. All of these skills are necessary to solve real-world problems and will promote career readiness.
