My classroom is full of energetic third grade students who come to school each day ready to learn and display their excitement and eagerness to do so on a consistent basis. Not only do my students vary in academic levels in all subject areas, my classroom also contains students that are raised in bilingual households speaking various languages. Many students also receive free or reduced price lunches.
My students are so creative and inventive that I have made it my goal to enhance their curiosity and knowledge as much as possible to meet the needs of the future we are preparing them for!
Our school serves students in grades kindergarten through fourth and provides rigorous academics, differentiated instruction, safe learning environments and the most dedicated teachers.
The goal of our school and my own classroom is to help all students become successful and valuable members of the twenty-first century.
My Project
There are so many resources that come out daily that promise to transform student learning. Osmos are one such resource that proves this to be true. Having Osmos to work with our iPads will add a new level of excitement, engagement, and hands on learning to our classroom and learning processes.
I want nothing more than for my students to be truly engaged in their learning, because when they WANT to learn, that is when true learning takes place.
Engaging my students through the physical space in front of them is such a simple, yet fail-proof idea!
Students will be able to use these Osmos during independent work, allowing me to feel comfortable letting them learn on their own, knowing that they will be engaged the entire time. This resource will also allow my students to begin or continue with their learning of coding - a crucial 21st century skill.
Not only do we ask so much of our students, we also ask them to learn very challenging things. It's important to ensure students ENJOY the learning process. Osmos are one way I can provide students this enjoyment while learning so that they will want to remain lifelong learners.
