Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am a special education teacher and I work with students with disabilities. They are a dynamic group of students who work really hard academically despite their challenges. Some of them are multiple grades levels below and others function at one grade level below. The majority of my students are tactile, multisensory learners.

My Project

I want my students to have the engaging learning game Osmo. They can interact with actual hand held pieces. This game has effective ways to teach the students. There are materials that are hands-on for kinesthetic learners, speaking and sounds for audial learners, and visual learners can see the information on the iPad. The students love playing the games and do not think of playing it as work. They want to play all day long.

OSMO is a magical tactile tool for learning.

Osmo is geared towards children and would be great for independent stations to hone their language arts and mathematics skills.
