Many of my students face struggles and challenges in their daily lives, but I see their dedication, and the joy they find in learning is truly inspiring.
We work together to create a learning community where everyone is safe and feels valued.
During their time in my class, I work to show my students the rewards hard work brings, as well as to show them that our unique differences are to be celebrated and respected.
I teach in a Title I school with the majority of students receiving free or reduced price lunch. While our families want their children to be successful, and there is great community support for the schools, I know that many students will not come to school prepared with the necessary supplies. I do my best to ensure that all students have what they need academically, physically, and emotionally during the time they are in my care.
Thanks to the Donors Choose community, we have been able to add three iPads to our classroom resources. The most popular literacy and math centers in our room are the ones that incorporate technology into the learning.
By adding an Osmo Genius kit, students' literacy and math skills will continue to flourish.
Developing strong a strong foundation with numbers and words is essential to future success in school. The Osmo kit will allow students to master these skills while also having fun! Not only are there number and word games, the Osmo Genius kit also includes games that encourage visual thinking, problem solving, and creative drawing skills. Students will also be gaining important exposure to new technology, which is an important 21st century skill!
