I am starting the year with some awesome kids! My "Proud Peacocks" are eager to participate, and they are already growing by leaps and bounds. These children are so excited to see what each day will bring. We just finished learning about the five senses and science tools. This has made them hands-on learners!
My students are extremely curious and technology driven.
They love to laugh, listen to stories and show creativity. Science and social studies are two subjects they find vastly interesting at the moment. These are the two areas in which the hands-on learning amazes them daily. Other students are confused when my kids talk about "Fun Science Fridays"! These kids can't wait until we get to pull out the science tools.
In short, these kids are eager to learn something new every day. They are not just learning letter sounds and numbers. They want to know more about the world around them, and I want them to have technology available at their fingertips for research. The best lesson I have taught them so far is that learning can be fun. When they move on to the higher grades, I want them to remember the joy of learning.
My Project
My students love centers. I am always looking for fun and innovative "work" for their favorite time of day. While I have created many fun learning games for them, there is one thing missing: technology. Students see tablets as games. If I can find more ways to incorporate our tablets into our centers, the students will benefit by becoming more familiar with the technology while having fun at the same time.
