This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I work with an amazing group of kindergarten students. In my kindergarten classroom, my students spend a majority of the day at their seats, completing class work. When it's center time, their faces light up and you can see the excitement in their eyes. They cannot wait to start their hands-on learning time.

They are full of life, energetic, and enthusiastic about learning.

Each and every one of my students learns in a different way, and it is my job to help them reach their full potential. I have a wide range of students in my classroom, with the biggest populations being low income, at-risk students. Our school is the smallest in our district but, in my opinion, the most vibrant. Our staff goes out of their way to make every student feel respected, wanted, and loved.

My Project

The use of technology is a daily occurrence, even for Kindergartners. The Osmo Genius Kit fosters students creativity and problem-solving skills while using advances in technology. My students will learn how to use technology for learning, not just for play. The Osmo system is "crafted with reflective artificial intelligence, a groundbreaking technology that bridges the real and digital realms".

Osmo technology provides students an opportunity to work independently on math, science, art and more.

My students will be able to work with technology on a daily basis, therefore becoming more aware of their learning. With five Osmo Genius Kits, they will also learn how to become independent learners.
