Students in my school are able to apply their developing knowledge of mathematics and science using technology. We use hands-on materials and learning through experiences and challenges.
Over 95% qualify for free or reduced-price lunch but students still respond to our enthusiastic, caring teachers and staff.
Students are expected to work hard and maintain a consistent effort. They are highly motivated and enjoy challenging themselves. They work well in collaboration with their peers and are always creative in their solutions.
My Project
My students would benefit from a collection of activities based on the Osmo kits, utlizing an iPad already stationed in the STEAM classroom.
The base kit and gaming extensions are a groundbreaking way to encourage creative thinking, cooperation, and collaborative learning.
The students will use physical objects to interact with the gaming system, using an iPad. The Osmo Little Genius Set combines creative tools, games and cutting edge technology to foster creativity and problem solving skills in younger students, while the Osmo Detective and Awbie kit is a way for all students to practice logic skills and problem solving. Overall, these kits will help students learn a variety of skills through different modalities all while having fun.
