I teach kindergarten through 5th grade in my media center. My students learn literature appreciation, technology, and topics such as coding with me. We are a typical elementary school with students from all demographics. Because our student come from so many backgrounds, I find collaboration is a wonderful way for them to learn from each other.
My students love to learn!
They like to explore and work with others. I would like them to have more chances to collaborate with others while experimenting with new concepts.
These kits will allow my younger students to work on basic skills like simple words and numbers. Older students can use those activities for remediation. Coding allows for the upper grades to also utilize the Osmo. As an incentive, I've included artistic activities as well and extra bases so that more students can use the Osmo during each period.
Students are more attentive and enjoy practice when they experience it in new formats.
They love to play games and often don't realize that they are reviewing necessary skills. This software will enhance their learning and deepen their understanding of critical skills needed for future grades. Students can be grouped in small groups, in pairs or even work one-on-one.
