Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have twenty-two bilingual second grade students who love singing, dancing, and learning about their world. Most of my students qualify for free lunch while the remainder qualify for reduced-price lunch. Most students speak Spanish as their first language and have parents who speak only Spanish.

My students are inquisitive and eager to absorb new knowledge, and I am fortunate to be their guide in this journey.

My students grow and learn from each other as much as I learn from them in the short nine months we have together.

My Project

Students love learning on their iPads. We have a set of five iPads that students use during learning centers. While they enjoy early coding games online, my students could benefit from not having pop-ups interrupting their learning. The Osmo learning kits will give students opportunities to learn math skills such as addition and spatial reasoning by creating tangrams.

My students will code sounds and beats while "playing" Osmo Coding Jam.

Who doesn't love playing with cars? Students will love the Osomo Hot Wheels Cars Kit because it will challenge their mathematical minds. Your donation will provide my students new options for the learning centers.
