Osmo and iPad- Interactive, Engaging and Educational
Help me give my students the Osmo learning system for our iPads. The students will be focused and actively engaged while using their iPad in classroom centers.
Our school is located in Schoharie Valley, which is nestled between the Catskills and the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. A town of fewer than 3,000 people, it was once a busy summer resort town know for famous sulphuric and mineral baths. Now the once beautiful hotels and resort wait vacant. Our families often struggle to find employment and opportunity for their families.
The goal is to help them to be focused, excited and engaged while learning independently.
Our school has less than 300 students in a K-12 building. I have been teaching there for 30 years and I am now teaching 2nd to 3rd generations. The school is like a family. Each child in our school absolutely loves learning through a variety of fun and engaging lessons. Often these learning experiences are done K-12. This project will benefit the Kindergarten and first graders this year and all students that enter my room in the future. It is truly an incredibly small school with so much community support.
My Project
The Osmo for iPad provides students with an interactive, exciting, and educational platform. Students will gain a better understanding of time, money, coding, art, reading skills, math skills, and many other enrichment activities. Osmo brings an iPad to life. The students will be actively engaged while using an iPad to supplement academics. Osmo fosters social intelligence and creative thinking while practicing crucial academic standards.
The Osmo learning system will be used in centers to ensure the students are focused and learning while working independently.
The use of Osmo in the classroom allows the teacher to teach in small groups while the other students are actively engaged during independent learning centers.
