My Students

My Literacy Room is a welcoming, safe learning environment for students who struggle to acquire foundation literacy skills. I teach struggling readers in grades 2 and 3 phonemic awareness, phonics, reading fluency, vocabulary development, and comprehension. My students are incredibly motivated and hardworking. I feel so lucky to help my students develop the same love of reading that I have.

My Project

I am in need of a Teacher Pay Teachers gift card to purchase Orton-Gillingham specific reading resources for my students. I am being trained in Orton-Gillingham reading instruction this year and would love to purchase materials that will align with my small group lessons. These include: decodable passages and sentences for reading as well as engaging phonics games and activities. My students LOVE to play phonics games at the end of each lesson, and the resources available on Teachers Pay Teachers align perfectly with the general scope and sequence of Orton-Gillingham.
