Imagine trying to teach a room full of 4-5 year old students who all come from different backgrounds and experiences. In my years of teaching, I have learned to laugh and enjoy every minute of my day. My students are fun, expressive children who come from all types of social and economic backgrounds.
They love games and anything that allows them to move.
I try to plan lessons that are engaging, interactive, and hands-on to keep them interested and excited about learning.
This year we will be studying farm animals and plants in the spring. I would love to take them to the Orr Family Farm to wrap up our unit.
At the farm we will experience the Discovery Barn that will give us a hands-on learning experience teaching farm to table concepts through interactive activities.
Outside children will be able to interact with animals in the barn yard, play in a "corn" box-similar to a sandbox but filled with millions of corn kernels, ride a train and get a tour of the whole farm, and take a twirl on the carousel. They can learn a few catch songs while watching an animated Chicken Show and play on the Giant Jumping Pillows, a Hay Mountain, the Super Slides, the Playground, some Tube Rollers, and swing on Horse Swings in the Farm Fun Yard.
