Help me give my students the materials we need to create a 3-D printing station, where students can design, build, and finish their original creations.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My middle school Career and Tech students have had a challenging school year so far. Despite their good humor and perseverance, due to technical problems outside our control, my students' work ended most often in frustration and failure. It's a new year, a new semester, and time for a new direction! I want to create a 3D printing station so my students can design, create, and add finishing touches to their original blind bag toys. Students will work in groups to create a business plan for their own toy companies. They will design different lines of Blind Bag Toys, and each student will design their own toy - from a tinkercad model to a final packaged product.
The donations to this project will create the opportunity for my students to be their own toy designers and manufacturers, using 3D printing technology.
The 3D printer is designed for beginners, which will allow us to focus on design, not on setup issues. PLA filament is the most environmentally friendly printing material, is generally recommended for beginners, and will allow the creation of detailed small-scale models. The acrylic paints will allow students to add fine details to their toys. Each student has the opportunity to showcase their personal interests - through the subject of the toy, its design, and its finished paint job.
One of the most exciting things about this project is that, once it is finished for this year, the 3D printer will remain and can be used by myself and other teachers at our school. We currently have teachers in our Health Careers Academy, in our English department, and in our Science department who are excited about future 3D printing.
