My school is a top-ranked school in my state, but that does not mean that all my students are at the top of their game in academics. The students that I teach are as diverse in their learning capabilities as the diversity in the different counties in my state. The honors students that I have are ready for anything I put before them and are eager to set the world on fire. What my special needs students lack in academic ability, they make up for with their effort.
The students that I teach are recovering from a devastating blow from Hurricane Florence, and they are doing so with great strength and character.
Besides sharing in their resiliency, my students share a yearning to do their best and to succeed in the 21st century. They work well with others and give their best efforts in all that they do.
My Project
Throughout my years of teaching, I have realized that students express themselves in many different ways. I have exceptional writers, deep thinkers, and eloquent speakers. These students have many opportunities to express themselves in these ways.
I need art supplies and organizers to help my artistic, tactile learners better express themselves but at the same time stay organized and manage their time.
The paints, brushes, and markers will give these students the tools they need to draw and/or paint their thoughts. The timer will allow all my students know at a glance how much time they have remaining so that they can learn time management while they display their thoughts. The desk organizer will be used to sort smaller objects for art projects and the hanging organizer for larger objects and equipment.
I hope you will help my classes in my endeavor to reach every learner in his/her own style and teach them all organization and time management.
