Help me give my students additional art supplies, like oil pastels, to help their creativity flow!
This project expired on May 27, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Over 60% of my students have been identified as socio-economically disadvantaged and are second language learners. For art, I teach lessons using the Common Core standards, as well as, connecting the pieces with famous artists.
My students are enthusiastic learners without the means to have real world experiences.
Many of our students are living in a single parent household. The families don't have the time or resources to provide enriching art activities. The creativity that comes through the students in our 4th grade class is just amazing!
Art supplies are essential to the classroom. If every student has access to their needed materials, it will allow them to concentrate on being creative. Instead of waiting for materials to become available, they will be able to continue with their project.
Students will be using the oil pastels in art pieces that resemble Van Gogh's Starry Night and Monet's Water Lilies.
With each of the lessons the students learn about the artists' life and techniques. The students will be using the pastels on different materials such as poster boards and construction paper. Their projects will be on display in our front office and for Open House. Thank you for your consideration in providing pastels for our young artists.
