This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love learning and work hard at it. Unfortunately, often times I do not have materials that would best suit my students' needs. They are a very active bunch and learn best when able to interact with the material kinesthetically.

I'm trying to bring my classroom into the 21st century and keep it student centered!

However, there are still 20th century items that we must have, like notebooks. Most of my students come to school without even a backpack, so I need to provide basic supplies for them so that they can learn.

My Project

I envision a classroom where there are groups of four desks all over. At each set of four desks, there is a cart that holds their basic supplies. Each drawer holds specific items that my students would need throughout the day and week. This would provide an organized area for my students' supplies while keeping those supplies close to the students.

In having these carts near the desks and having the supplies inside them, it would keep students from playing with their supplies during class but yet keep them close for assignments.

I am hoping this will help keep my students and myself organized for the school year without having extra items around.
