The MCR3 school district is located in a rural, central Missouri farming community. The district serves approximately 260 students K-12. I see elementary and middle school students each week on a fixed schedule; each class period is 50 minutes. Students may also visit the library during open library times. High school students visit the high school library on an open schedule. I also collaborate with high school teachers on a regular basis. When I am occupied with duties in either library, students are served by my certified paraprofessional.
As a school librarian in a small, rural school district, I'm constantly looking for ways to expand my students' world view.
Any additional resources help to achieve this goal. Resources may be used as activities in the library or shared with teachers through the classroom or collaboration with myself.
My Project
We were blessed by some amazing donors last year and have a good selection of STEAM equipment and materials. We now need to get organized with a mobile bin storage unit, a cart, and storage bins for our 3Doodlers, Strawbees, Legos, and other Makerspace supplies.
The mobile bin storage unit and cart will assist with storage as well as keep us mobile.
There is currently no dedicated space for our Makerspace. The cart and bins will also make it easier to share with teachers and classrooms. The storage unit and cart will also make our supplies more accessible to students.
DonorsChoose is the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
As a teacher-founded nonprofit, we're trusted by thousands of teachers and supporters across the country. This classroom request for funding was created by Mrs. Thompson and reviewed by the DonorsChoose team.
