Our preschool students are low income with family backgrounds from Mexico, Puerto Rico and Guatemala. Many students are from single-parent homes, facing many challenges. Our classroom is their first hands-on experience away from home. We are located in an urban community where violence occurs almost always. Families, however, strive to have their children attend school ninety-six percent of the time.
Students at this school strive to learn and develop artistic fundamentals and demonstrate the need for physical activities to keep their busy bodies happy and healthy!
Our school serves Pre-K through eighth grade students, offering many after-school programs in sports and language arts.
Preschool students have too many manipulatives but would benefit so much from orgazining in uniform organization bins. This will save our class time because manipulatives will be easier to match and place faster in their appropriate space.
It will make a difference in my students' learning by teaching many skills about organization and taking total control by placing all materials in place easily and appropriately.
Students learn to be responsible and focus more on the task in hand during clean up. More over, students will be excited about clean up and gain many skills like matching, one to one correspondence.
