I teach sixth grade in Michigan. I have taught fifth grade the last two years here and am going to be looping with my wonderful, articulate, bright students. I am so excited about the year ahead that we have together. We had many ups and downs throughout the year but in the end, we made it out stronger than before and closer than ever.
My students are amazing and courageous students with big hearts and curious minds.
I am very excited to start this year with these kids and have the chance to watch this class grow as they venture into middle school. I am so excited to build upon what we started this past year and continue to push them! My heart and mind are so full knowing that I have the opportunity to truly impact them on their educational journey.
My Project
I have asked for things to help with classroom organization. As we continue to transition this year to more flexible seating it is very important to have a specific place for supplies, copies, and other items. The carts with drawers will allow me to have a place for copies for individual and group work, turn in spots, extra paper, faster finishers, and more. This can be a one-stop shop for students as I want them to begin to find more independence throughout the year and allow to create a clutter-free space for them. The rolling cart will also help me for small groups where I or the students can access the supplies and materials from anywhere and I can roam the room with ease.
Organization is key in any classroom and having a place for everything creates a clutter-free and structured environment for my students.
I want them to feel at ease when they come in every day and know that everything has a place. This is also a great way to create more independence for students as they will know where each item is and can navigate their way through the classroom with ease. Organization is a small tool in helping to give our space structure and order and reduces clutter to allow their minds to freely think.
