We have 100 budding musicians in our band program. They have been working hard toward our school year performances and working as a team.
The students in our school come from a large variety of economic and ethnic backgrounds.
The diversity brings together many types of learners from those who are learning English as a second language to students who are high academic achievers. The school is a neighborhood school in a large school district. There is also a significant population of students receiving free and reduced-price meals.
My Project
Each year our students perform in an adjudicated festival for chamber groups and soloists. This is a wonderful opportunity for the students to become better self led musicians. Students must practice and perfect their performance for the festival using music from our school's music library.
Our music library for our band program is a nice size, however, we do not have proper storage in which to organize each title of music.
Currently, the music just sits on an open shelf in an unorganized mess. This is where your donation comes in to help us!
Having box file magazine holders and shelving would allow our students to have easy access to chamber and solo music. A student has been diligently organizing the music and it is almost ready to be filed and stored properly. A donation to this project would be truly appreciated!
