My students need the binders to stay organized with necessary papers given throughout the year as well as the construction paper to use as dividers to further help them organize.
When I was given a job as an ESE math teacher after a successful 3 months of substitute teaching, my first question was, "What is ESE?" Now 3 years into teaching students with and without learning disabilities at a Title I school, I cannot imagine doing anything else.
A lot of my students deal with hardships such as broken homes and poverty, but they all have dreams, and I am there to help them achieve those dreams!
Although some of my students deal with the daily struggle of a learning disability, they are strong, witty, independent and curious about the world around them. With some help from you and others like you, they will become more organized, successful learners that feel prepared to get through school and start their lives on the right track.
My Project
When my co-teacher and I were reflecting on the past year, we came to one major conclusion: our students could have been much more successful and organized if they had individual binders to keep all important papers and resources in one spot. Our students had a hard time reviewing everything for the state test because their adjunct resources were too scattered, unorganized, or nowhere to be found.
If each student has a binder to keep resources organized from each chapter, I believe they will be able to focus on learning.
I am also asking for construction paper to use as dividers in their binders, further helping their organization. My goal is to develop solid review skills and independent study habits in an organized format.
The problem is that a lot of our students come from families with little money for school supplies. I sincerely believe your donations will have a huge impact on my students, their families, and their future.
