My Students

I teach in a high performing district where students love to learn, teachers inspire, families engage, and the community trusts the system. I support teachers and students in a Title I school. Our students are a bright and energetic bunch of scholars. They come to school every day excited to learn more about the world around them.

My school is packed full of very diverse and inquisitive students.

Our school works hard to counter the effects and challenges of an economically disadvantaged community and give students an opportunity to live a choice-filled life. We love learning new things and being part of our unique little family.

My Project

The materials included in this project will help teachers and students organize and portfolio all the work that they have completed in all areas of balanced literacy across Fountas and Pinnell Classroom's instructional contexts.

Teachers will create a class binder where they can keep all the products and evidence of learning for each lesson taught and organized by each literacy component (anchors and student work samples) so that students can reference.

I envision these binders serving as communal portfolios; a product students can use as a resource and as a source of pride. Teachers can gain equal benefits from this resource as they will create a chronicle of their teaching and effectiveness so they may reflect on their successes and challenges.
