My students need book bins to be better organized. My class will be participating in flexible seating and this would be a great way to have their items needed at their side.
My students are an energetic, fun, and smart group of kids. Each student in my class has their own unique personality and way of learning. These students like to move about the room to avoid boredom. We are implementing flexible seating this year and with that we need ORGANIZATION! Smart, oh these kiddos are smart. I can not wait to see what they can do when they have the ability to move about and be independent.
The students in my class come from a variety of income levels, most being low-income.
We are a school where 95% are being bussed each day with an hour or longer bus route. We are also in the state of Illinois. Over the past 10 years, our district has been at "bare bones" and have learned to teach with less each year.
Next school year our students in the 5th, 6th, 9th, and 10th grades will be entering the digital world of learning. With that we will be also implementing flexible seating in my 5th grade classroom. In order for this to work we and I mean the students and I will have to be very organized to make this all work.
My Project
The book bins that our class would like to have will save time from going back and forth to our lockers and disrupting other students. With our new flexible seating we will be able to carry our bins with supplies around the room with ease. These will be a great organizing tool for the classroom.
Keeping the room organized will help students become more organized themselves.
Students who are well organized will not loose their supplies that are needed in class. With the help of the bins we hope to have less classroom disruptions which will help each student succeed.
