Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a Cobb salad of kids who come from different ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, different home environment situations, and 100% of students receive free or reduced-price lunch. More than three‑quarters of students come from low‑income households.
The one thing they all have in common is our school family that is here for them and will do what is best for them no matter what.
My Project
For the first time ever in our small alternative school, we have started to form a leadership club. The students who were recommended by their advisory teachers have stepped up to take on the role in an elegant manner.
This group of amazing kids is in need of some materials to help them organize our school activities.
We are respectfully requesting planners, pens, portfolios to carry the planners, and notepads for notetaking during the meetings.
The leadership group has already started our year with an assembly that honors our Native American culture. The students put together a presentation and spoke to our students about the importance of respecting all cultures and all students here at CATS.
