My students need pocket chairs to leave all their school supplies tagged with their name, magnetic letters, a small table to practice their writing skills, and a comfy place to sit down while reading.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students in my class are five years old and are eager and excited to learn in a Spanish Immersion environment! Yes, all the classes and subjects are taught in Spanish! For most of my students, this is the first contact they have with a language other than English. The school is also an Art Integration School, so I use all sorts of innovative methods in the classroom to make sure that the learning needs of every student are met.
This is the best age to start instilling good organizational skills that they will need to succeed as life-long learners.
My Project
The Chairback Buddy will help my students to be responsible for their own school supplies and will allow them to have more space in the classroom. Space is very limited in the classroom, and each student having to store their supplies on top of their desk or beside their chair creates a cluttered and distracting learning environment.
We do not have a carpet or any place to sit down while reading in the library corner.
These seats will make reading more enjoyable.
World Building Magnetic Letters are a great resource to teach spelling and forming words and a table whose height is appropriate for small children to use.
All of these supplies will contribute to creating a well organized and comfortable learning environment for my students.
